The Snowmen are here!

The Snowmen have arrived at Cake Pop Heaven! Rumour has it that these valiant cake pop moulds have journeyed through the treacherous conditions of the North Pole on their own to reach us in time for Christmas. Unfortunately they got a little lost along the way. The things they must have seen!

These moulds will help you create the perfect Snowman shaped Cake Pop. They also open up a lot of opportunities to make various other things too. They are packed in a beautiful box perfect for a gift, and include a no-bake recipe on the back. You can get these over at our shop here: http://www.cakepopheaven.co.uk/cake-pop-moulds/snowman-mould.html

There are still a couple of days left for you to order yours before Christmas! Last day for posting second class to mainland UK is tomorrow, and for other information check our delivery section here: http://www.cakepopheaven.co.uk/delivery-information

Once again, happy holidays!

Cake Pop Melts!

Our range of melts is growing bit by bit and it’s time to show you the range we have so far. Cake pop melts are coloured candy, with the appearance and texture of chocolate that can simply be melted and then worked with. These are simple to use and great for cake pops especially but are also used for other things like moulding, piping and general decoration.

Our cake pop melts come with melting instructions and advice to produce cake pops that will help you through the process, but they can basically be melted in the microwave or over a pan of boiling water (similar to chocolate). They are perfect to dip your cake and frosting mix to create an even coat on your cake pops.

Cake Pop Melt Colours
Our melts come in a range of colours to decorate just about anything on your cakes. We currently supply melts in White, Orange, Yellow, Light Brown, Dark Brown, Pink, Red, Green and Blue. Coming in December we may just have a Black Candy Melt for you too! With a range of colours you can decorate your cake pops or treats to match themes, or help lay down some initial block colours to make animals, characters, or whatever your mind can think of!

Cake Pop Melt Flavours
It doesn't just have to be about colours though, we also offer melts in different flavours too if you want to make your cake pops extra special. Our regular ones are all Vanilla flavour, and we have special Yoghurt and Caramel ones too. Coming in December are our Lemon and Strawberry flavours! These open up some great Cake Pop possibilities for complimenting flavours inside the pops such as fillings or flavoured sponges.

Cake Pop Melt Accessories
So, if you’re interested in our cake pop melts, how about some of our accessories! We have our Cake Pop Melting Pot and Double Chocolate Melting Kit. These melting pots are electric powered and easy and safe to use. They both come with a range of moulds, forks and implements and even some bits thrown in too! If you purchase a Cake Pop Melting Pot you will get a free bag of 200g Milk Chocolate Couverture, and if you purchase the Double Chocolate Melting Kit you get two free bags of Cake Pop Melts! (Please email for your choice of melts.) You can also purchase our Mini Melting Bottles - you melt your chocolate or melts in the bottles which you can then squeeze out.

Recipe: Raspberry Martini Cake Pops

Another short recipe based on My Little Cupcake that can be found here

This is a little recipe that replaces the ‘frosting’ aspect of the traditional cake pop dough for some alcoholic goodness and chocolate! It’s a great example of how creative you can be when it comes to cake pops, and focuses on raspberry and chocolate in particular. You can experiment yourself with all kinds of combinations if you can mix in some flavoured alcohol such as vodka with syrup, fruit or otherwise.  There are all kinds of flavoured liqueurs and all kinds of places to get them. I personally picked up a couple of teeny flavoured bottles from this company - http://www.getintothehabit.co.uk/products.html

For the Cake Pop Dough:
  • Chocolate Sponge Cake (already made for crumbling)
  • 3/4 Cups of Milk Chocolate Couverture
  • 3/4 Cups (or 175ml) of Single Cream
  • 120ml Raspberry Vodka
  • 1/4 Cups (or 60ml) Raspberry Syrup (or strained syrup from thawing frozen Rasbperries)

For the rest:
  • Cake Pop Moulds
  • Extra Milk Chocolate Couverture
  • Lollipop Sticks
  • Decorations

First things first, crumble up the chocolate sponge cake. This is the first step for a lot of cake pops, and if you don’t have one handy, then you will need to go get one or bake one. You can get a lot of recipes for a simple chocolate sponge, but here’s a basic one (http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/chocolate_cake_48307) if you need it:
  • 50g Cocoa Powder
  • 175g Self-Raising Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 100g Soft Butter
  • 300g Caster Sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 4 tbsp Milk
  • Baking Tin

Chocolate Sponge Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 180C/Gas Mark 4. Mix the Cocoa Powder with about 100ml of boiling water (about 6 tbsp) into a large bowl and mix well, and then add in all the other ingredients and combine. It should take 25-30mins to bake. You will want to wait for it to cool completely before crumbling.

Making the Pops:
Once crumbled, melt the couverture (You can melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of boiling water) into the single cream, and then simply mix that into the crumbled cake, and then the rest of the dough ingredients. You may need to experiment until you get the right texture to make into dough. You can then use your cake pop moulds to create the shapes you want, adding cocoa powder to the moulds to help remove the dough after shaping.

You can now melt either more couverture or cake pop melts to coat the pops with (and dip the lollipop sticks into to attach to the cake pops) and proceed with decorations. The original recipe uses a mix of chocolate and white cake pop melts, and decorates with a bit more of the melted chocolate along with some M&Ms, but it’s completely up to you!

Many different pops could be created using decorations or additions that either add to the chocolate or relate to the flavour of the syrup and alcohol put into the pops. For instance a strawberry chocolate cake pop infused with strawberry vodka and syrup, decorated with strawberry pearls, or go full out chocolate with chocolate syrup, chocolate vodka and some polished chocolate nuggets! Just make sure you don’t eat too many at once!

You can get a range of products to help you with this recipe on our website, and for a video instruction of how to create basic Cake Pops you can watch our video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFe_hiqKl_Y to help you with various parts of the process.

Cake Pop Recipes

We are collecting recipes to help you with your cake pops and give you ideas on the range of things you can make! The recipes will often incorporate items that can be bought from our shop.

The great thing about cake pops is the ability to experiment and be as creative as you like. Basic pops consist of a mixture of crumbled cake and frosting, but other things can be used to bind the cake together. Alternative pops can basically be made out of anything that has the correct texture that can bind together and be mould-able (or rolled into balls). So once you've decided what your pops will be made out of, you can incorporate all kinds of flavours, an example for basic pops is to use flavoured sponge or frosting, such as chocolate cake. Finally you've got the decorating stage, coating your pops with whatever you like such as chocolate or cake pop melts, then adding your toppings.

For the basic cake pops we recommend our Cake Pop Kit which comes with cake and icing mixes, melts, decorations, ties, sticks, display wraps and a display unit, all for £16.99 available at http://www.cakepopheaven.co.uk/cake-pop-gift-packs-kits/cake-pop-kit.html

This recipe list will continue to grow, but for the time being the available recipes are:

Recipe: Gluten-Free Vegan Chocolate Oat Pops

This is a great simple little recipe based from a My Little Cupcake recipe at http://www.mylittlecupcakeblog.com/2011/06/healthy-and-delicious-pops-for-everyone.html which in turn is based from a raw oatmeal cookie recipe by Ani Phyo.

This initial recipe is vegan and gluten free and it is about creating the pops with a mix of oats and dried fruit. This recipe uses raisins and dates but there’s no reason why you couldn't spice is up with all kinds of delicious dried fruits which you should be able to pick up from your health food stores (Holland & Barret to name one in the UK).

For the Cake Pop Mix (for Approx 12 Pops) you will need:
  • 85g Oats (or 1 Cup)
  • 1/2 Cup of Madjool Dates
  • 1/2 Cup of Raisins
  • Pinch of Cinnamon

For the rest:
  • Cake Pop Moulds
  •  Extra Oats
  • Vegan and Gluten-Free Chocolate (or Cake Pop Covertures for non vegan and gluten-free)
  •  Lollipop Sticks
  • Decorations!

You can add in all kinds of ingredients to the mix including cacao nibs and shredded coconut. The dates should be pitted and shredded by hand. The dates’ moisture will stick the mixture together when creating the pops, so add more oats or dates to get the right texture. Mix it all together with your hands or use a food processor. You can now press the mix into the cupcake mould; if it is too sticky you can grind up some oats to cover the inside of the mould before putting the mix in.

For the next part if you are following either a vegan or gluten-free type recipe then you need to make sure your melting chocolate is exactly that! The chocolate used on the My Little Cupcake recipe uses Endangered Species chocolate available at http://chocolatebar.com/ of which its bars are “Certified organic, gluten-free, kosher”. This is a US site however you may be able to find the products on Amazon! If you do not want the vegan or gluten-free route then you can use our selection of couvertures available on our store.

You can melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of boiling water, and then either dip the pops and place sticks in them for partial coverage, or dip the sticks into the chocolate and then into the pops, let them cool, then dip the pops into the chocolate for a full coating.

For an extra special little addition to these pops which will keep them gluten-free (but not vegan) add on some of our Gluten-Free Decorations! We have Strawberry Pearls, Mini Beans, Fudge Cubes, Tutti Frutti Fudge or Polished Chocolate Nuggets which can be bought individually or as a gift pack available at http://www.cakepopheaven.co.uk/cake-pop-decorations.html

For a video instruction of how to create Cake Pops you can watch our video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFe_hiqKl_Y to help you with the second part of the recipe!

Recipe: Cookie Dough Cake Pops

This is a recipe based from a My Little Cupcake recipe that can be found here.

For the Cake Pop Cookie Dough you will need:
  • 150g Unsalted butter (or 2/3 Cup)
  • 55g Brown sugar (or 1/4 Cup)
  • 100g Granulated sugar (or 1/2 Cup)
  • 1 tsp of Vanilla extract
  • 60g Plain or Vanilla Yoghurt (or 1/4 Cup)
  • 220g Plain Flour (or 1 3/4 Cups)
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • Additions such as chocolate chips, nuts, or other things you might want! (about 1 cup)

For the rest:
  • Cake Pop Moulds
  • Plain Flour
  • Cake Pop Melts or Covertures
  • Lollipop Sticks
  • Decorations!
Making the Dough:
Firstly mix the unsalted butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar together before adding the vanilla extract and yoghurt. Afterwards add in the flour, baking soda and salt, and then combine. Once the mixture is complete you can add in your extras such as chocolate chips.

Creating the Cake Pops:
Sprinkle flour into your mould so you can remove the dough once formed. Add in the dough and create the shapes you want using your Cake Pop Moulds. Once done, attach your sticks using chocolate or melts then chill in the refrigerator for a while. You can melt Candy melts in the microwave or in a bowl over a pan of boiling water; I suggest the latter if using chocolate. You can now take out the cake pops and dip them in the melts, and decorate however you like!

For a video instruction of how to create Cake Pops you can watch our video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFe_hiqKl_Y to help you with the second part of the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cake Pops!

You can purchase Cake Pop Moulds, Cake Pop Candy Melts/Covertures and Sticks at our store! http://www.cakepopheaven.co.uk/

About Cake Pop Heaven

Welcome to Cake Pop Heaven.

I have always had a passion for cakes and baking and love to experiment with new ideas. Whilst visiting the USA in 2010, I came across the cake pop phenomenon and saw how popular cake pops had become in the States. I recognised the potential for cake pops in the UK and could see them becoming the new cupcakes. So when I returned from my trip, anxious to get started on creating my own version of cake pops, I got to work. However, I soon discovered that it was not easy trying to find the right products and ingredients in the UK.

I decided to start designing my own products and began looking for quality manufacturers and suppliers. To start with I provided a cake pop catering service, supplying bespoke cake pops for birthday parties, weddings, corporate events and special occasions. It was clear right from the start that there was a lot of interest in cake pops as well as all the quality cake pop products and cake pop ingredients and accessories I had sourced.

I saw the opportunity and I launched my cake pop supplies business in 2011 and Cake Pop Heaven was born.

Cake Pop Heaven is committed to providing each and every customer with the very highest standard of customer service and to offer a unique range of high quality cake pop products. I am always looking out for new ideas and cake pop innovations and welcome feedback from customers.
In April 2012 I launched my first Cake Pop Kit, with everything you need to make 15 perfect cake pops. I am delighted with the interest in the kit and indeed in all of my product range.

Please have a browse through the site (CakePopHeaven.co.uk) and get a taste of the wonderful world of cake pops!
